For the first time, the University of Prishtina is launching the “Warm UP” Winter School, an initiative designed to become a tradition and a regular part of the academic calendar.

The first edition of the Warm UP Winter School – Winter Academy of Research Methods at the University of Prishtina will be held from 25 to 27 February 2026, featuring lectures and joint workshops delivered by professors from the University of Prishtina and the University of Luxembourg.

This school aims to promote doctoral studies and scientific research at the University of Prishtina, while also striving to become a lasting academic hub for experienced researchers and those just starting their careers.

During the Warm UP Winter School sessions, participants will discuss and learn about best practices in PhD programme design, challenges in doctoral studies, research funding, and how to align doctoral programmes with societal needs, public policies, and industry. A separate session will also focus on doctoral programmes offered at the University of Prishtina.

A doctoral colloquium will be held with students from the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, including FIEK students who have spent time at the University of Luxembourg’s SnT Centre, where they will present the work they carried out there.

This year, the Warm UP Winter School is supported by the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency (LuxDev) and the Embassy of Luxembourg in Kosovo.
