The Vesel and Nafije Latifi Foundation has awarded 40 scholarships to students at the University of Prishtina (UP) for the 2025/26 academic year. The scholarships, awarded yesterday, will support 20 first-year and 20 second-year bachelor's students.

Each annual scholarship is valued at 500 euros and is awarded to high-achieving students who demonstrate financial need. The program aims to make university education more accessible, particularly for students from outside Pristina.

This is the first distribution of scholarships under a ten-year Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Foundation and the University in December 2025. The agreement establishes a decade-long scholarship program (2025-2035). 

The creation of the Foundation by Mrs. Nafije Latifi, after a long professional career in journalism and more than 20 years of dedicated humanitarian work, continues these values and shows her ongoing commitment to supporting young people.

The Foundation, which was set up using family resources, comes from the Latifi couple’s many years of hard work built on sacrifice and love for the next generations with education remaining their lasting priority.

The University of Prishtina gives its heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Nafije Latifi and her family for their valuable contribution and steady support to students and public education in Kosovo. The university sees this partnership as an important example of solidarity and social responsibility.
