Before departing for their studies at selected European universities through the Erasmus+ program, students benefiting from this opportunity met with the leadership of the University of Prishtina at the Rectorate.
In the summer semester of 2026, more than 160 students from the University of Prishtina will begin their mobility programs at European universities, as part of international cooperation initiatives, as well as at Japanese universities.
Students participating in these exchanges have committed to representing their university abroad and to fostering new friendships, while also promoting the University of Prishtina in the countries where they will study.
Poema Efendia, a student at the Faculty of Arts who will study at the University of Giessen in Germany, expressed her gratitude to the University of Prishtina and its Department of International Cooperation for this opportunity. She wished her colleagues success and good luck in this exciting and challenging experience.
Medical Faculty student Ardi Blakaj, who spent several months studying at the University of Pavia in Italy through the EU’s Erasmus+ program, shared his experiences. He described the friendships he formed as a valuable treasure. Blakaj said he returned from Italy as a different person more prepared for life and with greater self-confidence while also sharing photos from his time abroad.
Rector Prof. Arben Hajrullahu wished the students success, encouraging them to develop both academically and personally, and to make the most of the exceptional opportunities available in today’s world.
Vice-Rector Rozafa Basha highlighted the transformative value of studying abroad. She emphasized that these students are ambassadors of the University of Prishtina and expressed confidence that they will represent the university and Kosovo with dignity and responsibility wherever they go.
The event was hosted by Afërdita Rexhepi, the Erasmus+ program coordinator at the University of Prishtina and organized by the Department of International Cooperation. Students were also reminded to carry the flag of Kosovo with them during their international experiences.
