American anthropologist Dr. Kailey Rocker, who published a scholarly paper in the journal Kosova Anthropologica, believes this article helped her get appointed as an assistant professor at Wilkes University in Pennsylvania, USA.

Professor Rocker published her research on the rescue of Jews in Albania during the World War II Holocaust and the similar suffering of Albanians under the communist regime over two years ago in the journal, which is published by the Department of Anthropology at the University of Prishtina's Faculty of Philosophy.

This research is the first entry listed among the American professor’s scholarly works in her official biography. She has been hired on a permanent contract at Wilkes University to expand their current anthropology program.

Reflecting on her application process, Dr. Rocker believes that her article “The Stories that Make Us: European Holocaust Narratives and the Promise of Albanian Cosmopolitan Memory Practices” published in the first volume of Kosova Anthropologica in 2023 strengthened her candidacy for the position.

Dr. Rocker also added that she enjoyed working with the Kosova Anthropologica team in the publication process and values the journal's mission "to advance anthropological knowledge in Kosova and the region" through peer-reviewed, open-access work.

The news that the article published in Kosova Anthropologica influenced an academic advancement process in America was also warmly welcomed by the journal’s editor-in-chief, Prof. Arsim Canolli.

“We are very pleased that articles published by our authors are recognized by American universities as impactful contributions in academic hiring and evaluation processes," said Prof. Canolli.

The journal Kosova Anthropologica is part of several well-known international platforms and various European and global open-access journal initiatives.
