In 2025, the academic staff of the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Prishtina published 23 scientific papers and took part in 4 regional conferences, with financial support from the University of Prishtina totalling €21,980.
For the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, 2025 was a year of progress in scientific research, sharing knowledge, and involvement in regional and international projects and activities.
Throughout the year, the faculty’s academic staff published 23 scientific papers in journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus. This included 10 papers in the SCIE, SSCI, and AHCI categories of Web of Science, and 12 papers in Scopus-indexed journals, spread across quartiles Q1 to Q4 (2 in Q1, 1 in Q2, 8 in Q3, and 1 in Q4).
A scientific chapter was also published with a Web of Science-indexed publisher.
The University of Prishtina provided this academic unit with €17,900 for scientific publications and €4,080 to support participation in 4 regional conferences.
Since 2014, the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Prishtina has been engaged in projects funded by the German Government. These projects focus on fighting viruses in Kosovo and building capacity to contain them in their early stages, before they become a major threat.
A faculty professor, Prof. Kurtesh Sherifi, is also the scientific lead on a joint project with the U.S. Army’s medical division. The project aims to identify viruses, bacteria, and parasites that pose a risk to soldiers and civilians in the area around the U.S. military camp Bondsteel.
Another professor from the faculty, Prof. Bajram Berisha, has been named among the top 100 scientists in Europe in the field of agriculture and forestry.
