During 2025, the academic staff of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMNS) at the University of Prishtina published 78 scientific works and participated in 24 conferences. This activity was supported by the University of Prishtina (UP), with 92,429 euros.

The FMNS academic staff this year engaged in numerous research projects and scientific conferences, demonstrating a high level of scientific inquiry and academic integrity.

Professors of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences published 78 scientific papers in journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus, of which 49 works are in the SCIE, SSCI, and AHCI categories of Web of Science. On Scopus, 26 papers were published, distributed across quartiles Q1–Q4 (2 in Q1, 5 in Q2, 14 in Q3, and 5 in Q4).

Additionally, FMNS staff published 3 scientific chapters in publishers indexed in Web of Science.

UP support for FMNS academic staff amounted to 71,100 euros for scientific publications, and a further 21,329 euros was allocated for participation in 24 scientific conferences (11 international, 11 regional, and 2 national). 

One of the professors from FMNS, Prof. Halil Ibrahimi, in his research work, together with the team he leads, has discovered several insects in various regions of Kosovo, drawing attention from international academic circles. Another professor from this faculty, Prof. Avni Berisha, has also been included among the top 2% of the world’s most cited scientists.
