The Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange of the University of Prishtina, Prof. Rozafa Basha, welcomed in a meeting the Ambassador of Hungary to Kosovo, H.E. Dr. Laszlo Istvan Dux, and the First Secretary of the Embassy, Mr. Aron Kerékgyárto. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibility of bringing a Hungarian language lecturer to offer a Hungarian language course within the Language Center at the Faculty of Philology and, potentially, the future establishment of a Hungarian Language Lectureship.
During his first official visit to the Rectorate in October of this year, among other things, Ambassador Dux and Rector Hajrullahu had exchanged views on broadening cooperation between UP and Hungarian higher education institutions, including the prospect of introducing Hungarian language courses for our students. Today’s meeting served to concretize these ideas and explore possible next steps.
The meeting was also attended by Prof. Milote Sadiku, Vice-Dean for International Cooperation at the Faculty of Philology, and Prof. Lindita Sejdiu, Head of the Language Center. They presented the structure through which language courses are organized at the center, working conditions for lecturers, and other organizational aspects of the Language Center. The parties also discussed the most suitable timelines for engaging the lecturer and opportunities for ensuring the sustainable development of this initiative.
The Language Center at the Faculty of Philology continues to expand its offer of foreign languages, while UP is further strengthening international cooperation with the aim of increasing academic opportunities for its students and staff.
