Professor Arbnor Pajaziti of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Prishtina has been granted and recognized the patent for the "Mechanical Ventilator with Resilient Adjustment Linkage" by the Industrial Property Agency of the Republic of Kosovo

Professor Pajaziti received significant assistance in developing his patented invention from Petrit Abdyli, a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering holding both master's and engineering degrees.

The patent application was filed in February 2024, and the patent remains valid until February 2, 2044. The mechanical ventilator is an innovative device designed for use in fields that require advanced control over ventilation processes.

It bridges the disciplines of mechatronics, medicine, and industry, showcasing how the University of Prishtina and its academic units are in step with current technological advances and innovation.

The idea for building the mechanical ventilator, which was funded by the EU and the University of Prishtina's Rectorate, emerged during the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a period when university teaching moved online and the need for such equipment was especially high.
