This year, the Rectorate of the University of Prishtina has again been illuminated in orange to support awareness-raising activities against gender-based violence.
The illumination was realized through the cooperation of the Rectorate with the UN Women office in Kosovo, within the framework of the "16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence". The campaign launched on November 25, 2025, under the organization of the Ministry of Justice.
The event, which promotes gender equality and empowers women and girls, was attended by the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Prof. Arben Hajrullahu, the vice-rectors, deans of academic units, professors, students, and representatives from the UN Women organization.
Gender equality at the University of Prishtina is guaranteed by Article 7 of its Statute, which states that the university ensures and supports this equality.
The University of Prishtina stands strong against gender-based violence. By illuminating the Rectorate in orange, we reaffirm our commitment to equality, safety, and dignity for all women and girls.
The Rectorate building was also illuminated in orange last year. The global campaign '16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence' will continue until December 10, 2025/
