A painting portraying the Albanian national hero, Hasan Prishtina, has been installed in the office of the Rector of the University of Prishtina (UP).

Commissioned by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Arben Hajrullahu, the artwork was created and donated to the country's leading academic institution by Prof. Agron Bytyçi from the Department of Visual Arts at UP's Faculty of Fine Arts.

The artist and professor, Bytyçi, stated that the portrait is positioned exactly where it belongs: in a place of knowledge. Professor Bytyçi has been a full professor at the Faculty of Arts since 2022 and has exhibited his paintings in galleries and other artistic venues across Kosovo, Albania, various European countries, and the United States.

Hasan Prishtina was one of the most influential national figures, who dedicated his entire life to fighting for Albania's independence, the liberation of Kosovo, and the education of Albanians.

This year, for the first time, the most distinguished UP students were presented with the "Hasan Prishtina" award on their day, which also marks the anniversary of the 1997 student protests. The awards were distributed in accordance with the Regulation on the Process and Procedure for Decision-Making in the Selection of Honorary Title Winners, Awards for Outstanding Students, and Recognitions.
