Kosova has been recognized among the states that have journals on the renowned global platform, the DOAJ.
Kosova has now been listed as a country in the renowned Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) database, alongside its journal "Kosova Anthropologica," which was previously accepted onto this platform.
The University of Prishtina, through its journal "Kosova Anthropologica" published by the Department of Anthropology at the Faculty of Philosophy, has helped Kosova gain recognition as an equal among the nations that have journals on the DOAJ platform.
The good news for UP, Kosova, and the country's scientific community was announced by the Editor-in-Chief of "Kosova Anthropologica" and Professor of the Department of Anthropology, Prof. Dr. Arsim Canolli.
" We’re delighted to share that Kosova is now officially listed in our DOAJ entry. Following our request, DOAJ kindly updated the record. This is very a meaningful gesture of recognition during International Open Access Week 2025," announced Professor Canolli.
The journal "Kosova Anthropologica" was accepted into the DOAJ in January 2025, and its publishers had been working since then toward the goal of securing recognition for Kosovo on this platform.
The DOAJ database is open access, meaning scientific works and journals can be read free of charge. It is among the most important repositories of its kind in the world, hosting 22,136 scientific journals with over 11 million articles.
The internationalization of scientific research remains one of the University of Prishtina's key priorities.
