Save the Children Delegation Visits University of Prishtina Ahead of Joint Symposium

The University of Prishtina (UP) welcomed Dr. Vesna Leskošek, Professor at the Faculty of Social Work, University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), and Carly McCusker, Global Director of Safeguarding, Ethical Programming, and Advocacy at Save the Children International. 

During the visit, Ms. McCusker was accompanied by Associate Professor Vjollca Krasniqi, Chair of the Save the Children Kosovo Board, and Mr. Ahmet Kryeziu, Executive Director of this organization in Kosovo. 

The delegation was received by Prof. Majlinda Gjelaj, Vice-Rector for Institutional Development, Quality Assurance, and Student Affairs. 

At the meeting, Vice-Rector Gjelaj, together with Vjollca Krasniqi, who also serves as a professor in the Department of Social Work at UP’s Faculty of Philosophy, briefed the guests on the history, achievements, academic programs, and future aspirations of the University of Prishtina. 

Save the Children Kosovo and the University of Prishtina will co-organize the International Symposium "Empowering Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Practices and Raising Community Awareness in Kosovo" on September 17 at the Faculty of Education. Dr. Vesna Leskošek, Head of the Department of Social Sciences and Justice at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Social Work, will participate in the event. 

This significant initiative stems from the 2023 Memorandum of Cooperation between the University of Prishtina and Save the Children Kosovo.
