The Vice Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange, Prof. Assistant Dr. Rozafa Basha, welcomed six international students from VIVES University of Applied Sciences in Belgium. These students are currently doing their professional internship and researching for their thesis on care and services for elderly people in Kosovo.

This activity is part of the Erasmus+ program and is organized in cooperation with the Department of Social Work at the University of Prishtina. The students are being mentored by Associate Professor Dr. Njomza Llullaku and Dr. Assistant Rita Selimi.

During the meeting, the students shared with Vice Rector Basha some of their research work and early findings from their project titled “Wellbeing and Safety of Elderly People: Practical Suggestions for High-Quality Care Services in Kosovo.” The project aims to better understand the needs of older people and to offer practical recommendations for improving social services and elderly care in Kosovo.

As part of their work, the students visited the Elderly Home in Prishtina and day centers for seniors, where they observed professional practices, support programs, and the experiences of the people using these services.

Vice Rector Basha congratulated the students on the quality of their work, their dedication, and the results they achieved during their time in Kosovo. She also praised Associate Professor Dr. Njomza Llullaku and Dr. Assistant Rita Selimi for guiding the international students and for their ongoing cooperation with international academics and organizations. She emphasized that these activities make an important contribution to the internationalization of the University of Prishtina and help strengthen its global presence.

The University of Prishtina remains dedicated to encouraging international academic cooperation, sharing knowledge and best practices, and creating opportunities for students and staff to contribute to the development of education, research, and community service.
