Spanish Professors Visit the University of Prishtina to Strengthen Cooperation and Joint Projects

The Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange, Prof. Rozafa Basha, met with professors from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) Prof. Concepción Camarero Bullón, Head of the Department of Geography, and Prof. Miguel Borja Bernabé Crespo, a geography professor who also serves as the Rector’s Delegate for Internationalization at UAM.

During the meeting, Professors Miguel and Arsim Ejupi from the University of Prishtina’s Department of Geography discussed their ongoing collaboration and joint research projects in the field of political geography.

The Vice-Rector commended the existing cooperation between the University of Prishtina and UAM, which is already underway among academic staff and departments. She specifically mentioned the Faculty of Economics and the Department of Social Work in the Faculty of Philosophy, where Erasmus+ KA171 agreements for student and staff exchange are currently in place.

She also presented the University of Prishtina’s international programs and activities, suggesting practical ways to deepen and formalize collaboration. These include developing joint research projects, extending exchange agreements to other departments, and creating joint study programs. The possibility of UAM supporting a Spanish language lecturer at the Faculty of Philology and the Language Center was also discussed.

The UAM representatives expressed their full willingness to continue and expand cooperation, emphasizing their university’s strong interest in strengthening ties with the Western Balkans region, including Kosovo.

The Spanish professors are visiting the Department of Geography in the Faculty of Mathematical and Natural Sciences. On April 22, they gave a lecture to students and staff on historical and political geography. The following day, on April 23, they joined University of Prishtina professors on a research visit to the Gora and Opoja regions, as part of a joint study
