The University of Prishtina (UP) has signed a cooperation agreement with the French Institute of Kosovo.
The agreement outlines joint activities and cooperation between UP and the Institute, as part of a partnership to develop teaching and promote the French language at the University of Prishtina during 2026.
Within UP’s Faculty of Philology, the Department of French Language and Literature offers bachelor’s and master’s programs for students who wish to specialize in French. Under the agreement, the department will also welcome lecturers from France.
Before the signing, both sides expressed their satisfaction with the agreement, which will strengthen ties between the two cultures and their higher education institutions.
The document was signed by the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Prof. Arben Hajrullahu, and the Director of the French Institute of Kosovo, Edouard Mayoral. Also attending were the Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Development, Prof. Rozafa Basha, and the Vice-Dean for International Cooperation and Scientific Research at the Faculty of Philology, Prof. Milote Sadiku.
The French Institute promotes language and cultural exchanges between France and Kosovo. It offers courses in French, Albanian, and Serbian, and prepares students for internationally recognized French language exams.
At the University of Prishtina, a French University Education Fair is held every year. UP students and professors also take part in academic exchanges with French universities through various European projects.
