In a meeting between the leadership of the University of Prishtina (UP) and a delegation from the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, discussions centered on the return of usurped university properties and the many opportunities for cooperation between the two institutions.
Minister Fitore Pacolli-Dalipi noted that many public properties have been seized under various circumstances and stressed that the return of UP’s properties will be a priority for her ministry.
She added that the Kosovo Spatial Plan, whose preparation is set to begin this year, will clearly distinguish public from private properties and will specify public spaces to be returned to various institutions.
Minister Pacolli-Dalipi emphasized that during the drafting of the spatial plan, the University of Prishtina should play a leading role, with support also coming from key European institutions.
The teams of Rector Prof. Arben Hajrullahu and Minister Pacolli-Dalipi agreed that in all areas of potential cooperation, UP and the Ministry should prepare, sign, and fully implement a memorandum of understanding.
Minister Pacolli-Dalipi was accompanied to the Rectorate by her property advisor Milazim Salijaj, chief of staff Edona Bajçinca, and media advisor Fatri Zhitia. They were welcomed by Rector Prof. Arben Hajrullahu, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Projects and Innovation Prof. Avni Hajdari, and Prof. Përparim Ameti of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
On behalf of the University, Rector Hajrullahu presented Minister Pacolli-Dalipi and her advisor Milazim Salijaj with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their report and investigation—submitted to the Kosovo Assembly—regarding a case of university property usurpation.
