The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports at the University of Pristina will serve as a partner, beneficiary, and implementing body in transferring the international project "We Run" to Kosovo.

The "We Run" project focuses on empowering women through grassroots sports, promoting health and skill development by creating safe, women-led communities. Funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program, this initiative aims to foster inclusivity and active participation.

Originally developed in Austria by the organization 261 Club Austria, this proven model is already being implemented in Albania and is now set for transfer to Kosovo with the active involvement of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports.

Key activities under the "We Run" project include:

·      Training running coaches in Albania and Kosovo;

·      Establishing four running groups in two Albanian-speaking regions;

·      Preparing three female leaders to adapt the model for Kosovo; and

·      Developing sustainable, long-term strategies and frameworks.

This initiative represents a major advancement in boosting participation among women and girls across various sports while fostering stronger, more equitable communities in the region.

The University of Pristina and its affiliated faculties consistently secure international grants for projects that benefit students, staff, and broader Kosovar society, reinforcing the country’s development through education and collaboration.
